Who We Are

We are a non-profit dedicated community empowering organization operating in Brampton City and the city of Toronto in Canada. Founded in 2016, we believe that every newcomer in Canada has the right to live a fulfilling and dignified life, free from discrimination and inequality.

Our Aim

To improve the well-being of newcomer women, youth, seniors and communities of color, with respect for their rights and dignity.

Our Vision

Our vision is to create a welcoming and inclusive society where all newcomer women, youth, seniors and communities of color, regardless of gender, are empowered to thrive and contribute fully to their communities.

Our Mission

To empower women with the tools and resources they need to achieve their full potential and lead fulfilling lives. Together we break the cycle of poverty for women, creating lasting changes in our communities.

Key Thematic Areas:

At NOMAD Community Services, we are committed to promoting social inclusion and integration for all newcomers. Our programs focus on empowering individuals and families by providing essential support in key areas:

  • Legal and Immigration Support – We assist with information and guidance to obtain relevant documents and connect them with legal representation.
  • Housing and Shelter Assistance – We advocate for newcomers in their search for safe and stable housing by engaging with landlords and helping overcome barriers, such as a lack of rental history or references
  • Health and Well-Being – We provide culturally sensitive support to help newcomers access healthcare services, mental health counseling, and essential well-being resources while respecting their values and backgrounds.
  • Resource Awareness and Capacity Building – We equip newcomers with knowledge about available internal and external resources to help them navigate their new environment with confidence.
  • •Community Support – We offer essential assistance through food banks, donations, and community-led initiatives to support those in need.
  • Recognition and Empowerment – We celebrate outstanding community members who have made a positive impact through volunteerism and service.

Nomad Community Services undertakes activities through the following pillars:

  • Social functioning assessment;
  • Assessment of needs and risk factors screening;
  • Evaluation of eligibility to temporary shelter and transportation;
  • Information on immigration, settlement and integration processes;
  • Guidance to internal or external complementary resources;
  • Wellbeing assessment for resettled refugees living on the Ontario

At Nomad Community Services, we believe that when newcomers thrive, entire communities thrive. We are committed to creating a world where newcomers and asylum seekers in Canada can take their rightful place as leaders, change-makers, and advocates for a better future.

Our team is made up of passionate and dedicated individuals who share a deep commitment to gender equality and community empowerment. Together, we work to create a world where every person can reach full potential, no matter the background or circumstances.
